Science busking at HDB heartland

November 08, 2019

Our Science buskers took exciting performances to the HDB heartlands for the first time.

On 9 October 2019, postgraduate students from MW5202 Innovations in Science Teaching, a module for the M.Sc. in Science Communication programme jointly offered by NUS and the Australian National University, put on their busking hats and shared some science wonders with members of the public.

The buskers drew curious diners and passersby with their colourful displays and engaged them with hands-on activities, such as constructing a lava lamp and causing seemingly gravity-defying motions.

Each station sought to convey interesting scientific concepts to the general public through fun and interactive presentations and laymen-friendly explanations.

The event was held in a public space at the hawker centre at Blk 724 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6, as part of the Vibrant Hawker Centre Programme.
