Hello! I am Ting Yu, a Y4 Data Science and Economics student. In my free time, I enjoy baking and making DIY craft work, and spending time with my 5-year old sister! I absolutely love spicy food – tom yum, mala, curry, you name it.
School life can be tough, and there will be times where we just need a listening ear to support us. I joined the PSS in hopes to be that friend we need, and provide encouragement to peers who are seeking guidance. Through interacting with different people, I hope to learn new skills and be a better friend to all! 🙂
I am Darren, a Year 2 Pharmacy Student and one fun fact about myself is that I have been to Ikea so many times that I probably can give you a full guided tour of the whole Ikea
I joined the PSS because I love helping people! Many of my friends have helped me through tough times and I was able to come out of it stronger thanks to them. As such, I hope to be able to use these experiences to support and encourage my peers in their time of need so that I can put a smile on their faces at the end of the day!
Hello! My name is Jannah, I’m a Y2 Pharmacy student. I am very passionate about philosophy and music. My favourite artists are the Arctic Monkeys, Mitski and Radiohead. I love going for runs with my friends so we can yap. My dream is to travel the world and become multilingual. I joined PSS to advocate on the importance of mental wellness among my peers and to meet others with alike mindsets. Nice to meet you!
I’m a Y2 Environmental Studies student. A fun fact about me is that I’ve learnt traditional Indian dance (Bharatanatyam) since I was 4 years old.
During my tertiary education years, I volunteered with an organization that focussed on mental health advocacy, engaging in projects such as designing a resource toolkit, organizing a panel session with mental health professionals, and curating the South Asian Mental Health Directory. These experiences made me acutely aware of the importance of mental health and the urgent need for greater awareness and support.
This fueled my desire to apply for Peer Student Supporter and continue advocating for mental health within NUS. Not only do I want to work to further destigmitise mental health illnesses amongst the student community, I also want to make a positive difference in the lives of fellow students by providing guidance, support, and encouragement during challenging times.
Hello! I’m Yash, a Y2 majoring in Life Sciences.
I thrive on meaningful conversations—connecting with people is what energizes me! Outside of academics, I love running, reading (calling all Jim Butcher fans!), playing badminton, volunteering, and I’m even exploring the keyboard for the first time.
I joined PSS because I understand university life can be challenging. I’m committed to fostering a supportive community where the Science family can find comfort and camaraderie. Swing by the PitStop for a chat, and let’s tackle those tough times together!
Hi I’m Arko I’m a Y4 studying Life Sciences and Psychology and I joined PSS because I love being able to support people like my friends and be a listening ear for people who may be having some troubles. I have done something similar to PSS before and wanted to continue to learn more.
Hi! My name is Xuhan, and I’m a year 2 statistics student. A fun fact about me is that since coming to Singapore, my tolerance for spicy food has gone down. I used to enjoy very spicy dishes, but now I can only handle a little. University life can sometimes feel uncomfortable or frustrating, and that’s completely normal. What matters is that you don’t go through it alone. If you’re willing to share, we’re always here to listen and support you:) I deeply value the trust behind the stories people share with me, and I truly cherish the connections I build with those I meet. Let’s look forward to a meaningful and enjoyable semester together!
Hello! I’m Jonelle, a Year 2 Mathematics student who loves meeting new people and having meaningful conversations. 🙂 A fun fact about me is that my favourite dinosaur is the Velociraptor! In my free time, you’ll often find me doing crafts or playing games like Genshin Impact and Identity V. I joined the Peer Student Supporter programme because I enjoy connecting with others and hope to be a friendly face and a listening ear for others. If you ever need someone to listen, share advice, or just chat about life, feel free to drop by and say hi!
hello! I’m Sherlyn , Y3 Life Science student. I love bunnies and sleeping 😴
I joined PSS as I hope to be a listening ear to anybody and help with the mental health of everyone . Life is tough but so are you!
Hi, I’m Jun Sheng, Y3 majoring in Pharmacy, your Peer Student Supporter with FOS! I’m here to provide a friendly listening ear and help you navigate both academic and personal challenges. Hello! My name is Yueling, and I’m a Year 2 Math student. I enjoy gaming in my free time, so feel free to add me on Steam and join me for a round of Overcooked or Stardew Valley! I’m also looking for what to play next so please recommend your top3 games! I joined PSS because when I first came to Singapore as an international student, it was a little hard for me to settle in and find my place. Over time, I found ways to adapt, and now I hope to share my experiences to help more peers overcome challenges and feel more at home.
