Raffles College opened
- Classes in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics were conducted
- Departments of Chemistry and Mathematics started in 1929
- Biology offered in an arrangement with King Edward VII College of Medicine

Department of Pharmacy set up under Faculty of Medicine
1949
- Merging of Raffles College with King Edward VII College of Medicine to form University of Malaya
- Faculty of Science established
- Department of Botany established*
*Now Department of Biological Sciences

Department of Zoology established

1956
Departments in the College of Science under Nanyang University
offered classes in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology for the first time

Degree in Pharmacy introduced

University of Malaya in Singapore renamed University of Singapore
