Prof Giorgia Pastorin

Prof Giorgia Pastorin received her PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2004 from the University of Trieste, Italy. She is a pharmaceutical scientist by training and a registered pharmacist from Italy.  After a postdoctoral research position at the CNRS (the French National Centre for Scientific Research) in France, she joined NUS in 2006 as Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011, became Assistant Head in 2014 and Deputy Head (Research) in 2016 while directing the Pharmaceutical Innovation and Research Centre in the department. In 2017, she assumed the appointment of Assistant Dean (Research and Development) at the Faculty of Science until June 2024. She is currently Head of the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Science.

Assoc Prof Priscilla How

Assoc Prof Priscilla How is an educator and a pharmacy clinician specialising in the area of Nephrology Pharmacotherapy. In addition to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students in NUS, she runs ambulatory care clinics in National University Hospital for patients with chronic kidney disease. She is a passionate educator who imparts clinical knowledge and pharmacy practice skills to her students and brings lessons alive using real-life case scenarios based on her clinical experience. She is also a compassionate and dedicated clinician who cares for her patients.

Mr Nigel Lim

Senior Pharmacist
Ng Teng Fong General Hospital

Mr Nigel Lim, Senior Pharmacist at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, is an award-winning pharmacist and innovator who specialises in the modernisation of pharmacy practice. A former Singapore Biodesign Innovation Fellow and current NUS Master’s candidate in Biomedical Informatics, he clinched the National Healthcare Innovation and Productivity Best Practice Medal in 2024 for excellence in hardware automation. Today, he focuses on architecting intelligent healthcare ecosystems and disruptive innovation solutions.

Becoming a Pharmacist: What I Wish I Knew

In this talk, Ms Goh will bring you through her journey as a pharmacy student to newly registered pharmacist. Join her to understand what studying pharmacy is really like, from enriching academic opportunities and student life beyond the classroom, to entering a career in pharmacy which she has come to love. Through her experiences, she will offer a glimpse of the journey ahead, a few things she wishes she had known before starting pharmacy school and how she has come to learn that pharmacy is so much more than you imagined.

Ms Goh En Qi

Ms Goh En Qi graduated from NUS in 2025 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) degree and a Second Major in Music, Collaboration and Production. Currently a newly registered pharmacist at National University Hospital, she is committed to providing safe, effective and compassionate patient care. Beyond clinical practice, she remains active in the music scene and hopes to foster a joyful and vibrant pharmacy community through the arts.

New bent-toed gecko species in Timor-Leste

“We have barely scratched the surface of Timor-Leste’s biodiversity. New discoveries can have profound impacts on conservation and policy-making.”

In August 2022, we led an expedition to Timor-Leste in collaboration with Conservation International and the government of Timor-Leste. The Museum’s herpetologist, Dr CHAN Kin Onn, discovered a new species of bent-toed gecko which was named Cyrtodactylus santana, in reference to the Nino Konis Santana National Park, in which the gecko was discovered.
