Dr Loke Chok Kang

Dr Loke Chok Kang leads CSC’s data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) efforts to drive learning analytics for the public service.

Dr Loke’s journey has spanned healthcare, education, finance and government, where he applies data to solve meaningful challenges and improve lives. He is an accredited statistician and advocate for digital innovation who believes that studying statistics and data science is less about mastering formulas and more about training the mind to navigate complexity, ask better questions and lead with purpose. Through mentorships, he continues to inspire graduates to stay curious, embrace change and use their skills to shape a better future for themselves and all. Dr Loke is a graduate of NUS’ then Department of Statistics and Applied Probability (now Department of Statistics and Data Science).

Mr Chiang Poh Leong

Mr Chiang Poh Leong has over 20 years’ experience in food product formulation and process development. He brings with him expertise in nutritional products (both powder and liquid), projects management and process / cost optimisation.

He focuses on delivering innovative nutrition products across all ages. He has developed new formulations for Similac, PediaSure, Ensure and Glucerna and implemented projects that save around $1 million in costs every year.

Professor Ng Huck-Hui

Professor Ng Huck-Hui is renowned in the field of gene regulation and genomics and has authored some of the seminal work in this field. 

He helped to set up and implement several national funding initiatives such as the Singapore Food Story, Prenatal and Early Childhood for Human Potential and Nucleic Acids Therapeutics. 

He served as the Executive Director of the Genome Institute of Singapore, the Executive Director of the A*STAR Graduate Academy and the Assistant Chief Executive of A*STAR’s Biomedical Research Council. He also held several administrative positions. 

Prof Ng is active in research and sits on several boards such as the Science Centre Singapore, NUS High School and R&D funding steering committees.  

In recognition of his scientific contributions, Prof Ng has received numerous local and international honours and awards.

Ms Zhou Linyi

Ms Zhou Linyi is a seasoned finance professional with nearly two decades of experience in treasury, liquidity management, funding and investment across leading global financial institutions. At Nomura Singapore, she leads the AEJ Treasury Funding team, overseeing yield optimisation for the liquidity pool and managing cross-regional funding strategies.

Ms Zhou has spearheaded cross-regional projects that enhance funding efficiency, streamline liquidity management and integrate treasury operations across multiple financial entities. Her expertise spans regulatory engagement, risk control and strategic funding initiatives across Asia and beyond. She previously held key treasury roles at Barclays Singapore.

Ms Zhou is an NUS Applied Mathematics graduate, specialising in Financial Mathematics and Operations Research.

Dr Chong Yoke Sin

Dr Chong Yoke Sin has keen interests in Artificial Intelligence (AI) ethics advocacy, digital transformation and cybersecurity in industries such as healthcare, education, finance and insurance.

She was previously managing partner of iGlobe, a venture capital firm with investments in deep technology, biotechnology and financial technology. Dr Chong is the Immediate Past President of the Singapore Computer Society (SCS), Chair of the SCS AI Ethics and Governance Council and a contributing author to the SCS Body of Knowledge for Ethics in AI. 

Dr Chong was the former CEO of NCS (previously National Computer Systems) and founder-CEO of Integrated Health Information System (now Synapxe). For her contributions to the technology industry, she was awarded the SCS Hall of Fame (2023) and the Hall of Fame by the Health Information Management Systems Society (2016). She was also awarded the Public Service Medal for her work with the disability sector and is a SkillsFuture Fellow for her commitment to lifelong learning and mentoring. She is also an NUS Distinguished Science Alumnus (2024).

Ms Ng Hong Yen

Ms Ng Hong Yen is a practising specialist pharmacist in oncology accredited by the Ministry of Health in Singapore. She is active in practice, training and research, and a certified collaborative prescriber in the area of haematology and haematopoietic cell transplantation.

She recently stepped down as the programme director of the National Pharmacy Residency Programme (Oncology) in May 2024, after leading the programme since 2018. At the national level, Ms Ng contributes to several committees, including the Pharmacist Specialist Accreditation Board as a member, the Pharmacist Specialist Accreditation Committee (Oncology) as chairperson and the Pharmacy Leadership workstream as a member. She has been an active member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore (PSS) since 2010 and served as Council Member (2013 to 2021). She was President of the 110th and 111th Council (2016 to 2018), where she championed initiatives to enhance the professional role of pharmacists across different care settings.

Recently, she received the Professor Lucy Wan Outstanding Pharmacist Award (2024), the highest award conferred by PSS for excellence in pharmacy practice.

Ms Ng also holds the appointment of Chief Pharmacist (Academic Medicine) at the SingHealth Group Pharmacy Office, driving research and education to advance clinical care and practice.

New bent-toed gecko species in Timor-Leste

“We have barely scratched the surface of Timor-Leste’s biodiversity. New discoveries can have profound impacts on conservation and policy-making.”

In August 2022, we led an expedition to Timor-Leste in collaboration with Conservation International and the government of Timor-Leste. The Museum’s herpetologist, Dr CHAN Kin Onn, discovered a new species of bent-toed gecko which was named Cyrtodactylus santana, in reference to the Nino Konis Santana National Park, in which the gecko was discovered.
