Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Laboratory
The laboratory provides identification of unknown materials, determination of chemical structures, properties of novel products, quantification of components in a mixture and analysis of conformational and molecular dynamics. This is a non-destructive technique that allows a full recovery of the original sample.
Services Available
Bruker Avance 500 (DRX500) with TXI (1H, 13C, 15N) CyroProbe.
Bruker Avance 500 (AV500) with high resultion 1H and multinuclear spectra.
The system is operated by the trained users for 1D and 2D experiments such as NOE difference, COSY, NOESY, HMQC and HMBC. Operator service will be available for occasional users when needed. The training on this system are scheduled on an as-needed basis, and is only opened to users who have the prerequisite. Please check out with the NMR personnel for the details.
Bruker Avance 400 (DRX400) for solid state with CP/MAS and HRMAS.
Bruker Avance 300 (AV300) with an auto-tunable 5mm Quad-nuclei QNP probe (1H, 13C, 19F, 31P).
The spectrometer is fully operated by licensed users and operates on an open booking system (local users only). The machine time is booked on a daily basis according to a set of rules posted on the notice board in the NMR Laboratory.
The Laboratory currently has a cluster of six workstations and a server PC licensed to run the 1D and 2D WIN-NMR software for off-line processing of data accumulated/acquired from the NMR spectrometers. Briefing cum demonstration on the 1D WIN-NMR software will be conducted regularly for newly registered users and the schedule of the demonstration will be announced on the NMR laboratory notice board.
