Highlights
The Chemistry Department has always been aggressive
in research and has made significant contributions to knowledge
in theoretical chemistry, analytical chemistry (especially high-resolution
chromatography and electrophoresis), environmental analysis, organic
synthesis, metal complexes and organometallic compounds.
Publications Statistics
Multi and interdisciplinary research is being actively encouraged, and work is being carried out in collaboration with staff members from other departments of the University as well as researchers from other universities or the Industry. In 2008, 67 of our publications are above impact factor of 5. Up till August 2009, 56 of our publications are above impact factor of 5. The figure below indicates clearly that the department has been progressing steadily in research output in terms of quality and quantity.
