Research Interests

Research efforts of our group are centred on catalysis. We are interested in the physical organometallic chemistry of small molecule activations and functionalisations, synthetic and mechanistic organometallic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and DFT studies and modelling of transition metal catalysis. Initial intended research directions include 1) development of new strategies for carbon dioxide reduction, 2) catalytic photogeneration of hydrogen from water, 3) mechanistic studies and design of novel catalysts for olefin polymerisations, and 4) exploiting organometallic chemistry on surfaces for unprecedented reactivities. We provide co-workers with opportunities in a wide variety of disciplines, specifically, organometallic synthesis and characterisation, polymer chemistry, transient spectroscopy, and DFT calculations.
