The Department participated in the 2nd Singapore-China Collaborative and Cooperative Chemistry Symposium (SCCCCS-2) from April 7-8, 2004, graciously hosted by Soochow University.

In the larger context, the SCCCCS series was an effort by NUS-Chemistry that was intended to serve as a platform to engage Chinese universities that included
Soochow University, Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University and Nanjing University of Science & Technology for mutually beneficial academic activities. The first symposium hosted by NUS-Chemistry in March 2002 saw participation by all of these universities.
