Singapore Studies (SS)
Singapore Studies (SS) embraces a series of modules dealing with various aspects of Singapore: its geography and history, its society and economy, its politics and international relations. It is mandatory for all undergraduates (except those from the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry and Law) to read and pass at least one SS module within their course of study in NUS.
Faculty of Science offers one SS module, Natural Heritage of Singapore (SSS1207). Hosted by the Department of Biological Sciences, this module uses Singapore as a model to discuss how a balance can be achieved between expanding urbanization and biodiversity conservation.
Apart from Science, other Faculties/Schools also mount SS modules under various topics of interest. Please visit the CORS Module Information page for the list of SS modules offered in the current semester.
