Breadth Modules
The module requirements of the undergraduate curriculum in NUS provide the substantive scaffolding to ensure broad-based learning combined with depth of specialization. The Breadth component in our curriculum structure helps to achieve this aim of broad based leaning, with sufficient flexibility to encourage students to pursue and appreciate topics beyond their chosen field of specialization.
For Science students, modules which can be considered to fulfill Breadth requirements should be those that are offered from Faculties outside Science. The Breadth requirements for Science are listed below:
  • Students matriculated in and before AY2006/2007 have to read and pass 8MCs of Breadth modules for the B.Sc. programme or 16MCs for the B.Sc. (Hons.) programme.
  • Students matriculated in and after AY2007/2008 have to read and pass 8MCs of Breadth modules for either the B.Sc. or B.Sc.(Hons.) programmes.
The list of Breadth modules available in the current semester can be found in the CORS Module Information page.
