GLOSSARY
Advanced Placement Credits or APC These are MCs given to new students with sufficient foundational knowledge of a certain discipline to exempt them from reading lower level modules so that they may take higher level modules directly. This way, students can graduate in a shorter time.

H2 students
Cumulative Average Point or CAP This is the measure of the student’s academic performance from their first to their most recent assessment.
CAP = Sum of (Grade point of the module taken X No. of MCs of that module) Total number of MCs of all modules taken
Faculty Requirements These are modules offered by the student's home faculty that expose the student to disciplines related to the student's Major. In some cases a Faculty module is also a Major module; for example, the modules in the Life Sciences (LSM) major include the Statistics module ST1232 and Chemistry module CM1121, but because these two are non-LSM modules offered by the Faculty of Science, they are also Faculty modules.
Graduation Requirements Students need to satisfy the following requirements before they can graduate:
1) Major requirements 2) Faculty requirements 3) Breadth 4) General Education Modules 5) Singapore Studies 6) Unrestricted Electives The number of modules they are required to read and pass depends on the programme they are in. Major Requirements These are the set of core modules specific to a discipline which a student has to read and pass.
Modular Credits or MC These are the measure of a module's worth according to the workload: the heavier the workload, the more the number of modular credits. Most Science modules carry 4 modular credits.
Programme Requirements These are made up of the Faculty and the Major requirements.
