Dean's List
The Faculty of Science recognizes students' outstanding achievements in each semester and certificates are awarded in recognition of them. Students will be notified via email to collect the certificates by every semester.

Dean's List Recipients

Selection Criteria
In order to be considered for the Dean's List, students must meet the following criteria with respect to workload, Semester Average Point (SAP), and ranking:

For students matriculated in AY2002/03 & after

Criteria Requirement
Workload* Complete at least 19MC (for Science Students)
Complete at least 20MC (for Pharmacy Students)
SAP** Attain at least 4.30
Ranking (Top x%) Fall within the top 5% of the total population of undergraduate Science students
Fall within the top 7% of the total population of Pharmacy students

* Workload
Includes all modules read in the semester under consideration, with the following conditions:
  • Includes at most one Breadth/General Education/Singapore Studies module with Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory option;
  • Excludes modules ES1000 and ES1301;
  • Excludes modules with 'EXE', 'IP', 'IC' or 'W' grades;
  • Includes half of the MCs of an 8MC UROPS module, or 4MCs, in the computation of the student's workload in the first semester, and the remaining 4MCs in the computation of the second semester's workload; and
  • No MCs from the Honours project module to be included in the student's workload in the first semester, and the full MCs to be counted in the second semester.

**SAP
Semester Average Point (SAP) is computed from grades achieved within the semester under consideration.
Computation of SAP: Sum(Grade Point*MC)/Sum(MC)
The computation of SAP:
  • Excludes modules ES1000 and ES1301; and
  • Allows students to receive the full contribution to SAP from their 8MC UROPS and Honours project modules in the second semester.
