The Faculties of Science at National University of Singapore (NUS) and the University of New South Wales (UNSW), the University of Toronto (UOT), the University of Waterloo (UW) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) jointly collaborate in offering Summer Programmes for each universities' students. This short term exchange programme is hosted by each university in turn and is a multidisciplinary programme involving participation from various departments spanning across Faculties/Schools at NUS, UNSW, UOT, UW and UCLA.

This Dec 2008 and May 2009, UNSW and UW respectively will run its programme for the fourth time. NUS Science students will have the wonderful opportunity to broaden your horizons in Australia or Canada without disrupting academic schedules. In the host country, you will discover the true meaning of "learning outside the classroom" - observe and experience many of the things you study, including the country's history, culture, art, and religion.

In the words of one of the programme's previous participants says, "... Travelling to the other side of the world have let me learn that there are actually so much more, like how diverse the people can be, how huge a country can be, with the beautiful sceneries other than buildings and urban landscapes..."

Students who are interested in participating in any of the above summer programmes should:

1. Attend the past two briefings, or read the information on the presentation slides available in the link below.

2. Students are to apply online at the science student intranet by this Sunday, 14 Sep 2008. Only students who have applied online can sign up for the interview slots on 16 & 17 Sep 2008 at S16 Level 2 Science Dean's Office.

Students will pay for airfare, visa, accommodation, books, health and travel insurance, living expenses (food, public transport etc.) Financial estimates will be available in the powerpoint slides for the coming briefing.
