Science Programmes in the Grandes Ecoles The Grandes Ecoles are the top French engineering schools which provide higher education and quality research in engineering science. A common feature of all Grandes Ecoles is the strong emphasis on Mathematics and Physics curricula in the first year which is equivalent to the honours level in NUS. Non-Physical Science students may still apply for the Double Degree Programme but they must prepare themselves by building a strong background in Mathematics and Physics. It is advisable to complete the following physics and mathematics modules at NUS before going to the Grandes Ecoles: PC2130, MA2101, MA2108, MA3110, MA3111 and MA3209.
Among the 6 partners, Ecole Polytechnique (X), Ecole Centrale Paris (ECP) and Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines de Paris (ENSMP) offer programmes which are more suitable for science students. As the study in the Grandes Ecoles requires a high level of mathematics and physics, only students majoring in mathematics and physics will be invited to apply. For details of their programmes, students are advised to consult the handbooks, the webpage or relevant advisors from the Grandes Ecoles and from NUS for more information.
