Conversation with Students and Student Leaders

Thinktank Series

We believe in working closely with students to make their university experiences rewarding and meaningful. The Thinktank Series allows faculty members to get to know students better. It is also a platform for students to discuss student-related topics with their peers. Every semester, selected students from various levels and majors are invited to participate in three to four sessions. During these sessions, deanery members meet up with students in an informal setting over lunch to listen to their views on how things can be improved and what their concerns are.

Thinktank Series is normally organised by the respective academic societies in Science.

Engaging Student Leaders

Student leaders are engaged in dialogue sessions and leadership programs organised every semester.

Dialogue with Student Leaders

Representing the student population, student leaders from the Science Club, academic-based societies and interest groups engage in open discussions during dialogue sessions with Faculty members. Various topics and experiences, such as overseas volunteering and community work etc., are discussed. University policies and guidelines, such as PDPA, finance, and safety frameworks, are also reiterated in these sessions.

1 Day Leadership Workshop

For our student leaders, they will also undergo a 1 Day Leadership Workshop which is conducted by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and Facilitators@NUS. This workshop will be a platform to bond the different Science Club's subcommittee directors and vice-directors, and to bridge connections with the leaders from the other academic societies under Science.
