Almost 900kg of rubbish cleared from Lim Chu Kang mangrove
It was reported that a group of 67 volunteers collected some 888kg of rubbish from the Lim Chu Kang mangrove on 4 February 2017. This was part of cleanup efforts organised by International Coastal Cleanup Singapore, and one of the organisers was Mr N. Sivasothi, a senior lecturer with the Department of Biological Sciences at the NUS Faculty of Science. The cleanup drew a diverse crowd, from NUS students to visitors as far away from India and Serbia.
