Scholarships/Financial Aid
Here in NUS, we firmly believe that investing in education is an investment for the future. There are various scholarships and financial aid schemes available at NUS to assist you in your educational expenses, so as to ensure that no student admitted to the University is denied an education due to financial difficulties.
Scholarships The following scholarships are available for freshmen: NUS Global Merit Scholarship (GMS)
NUS Undergraduate (MERIT) Scholarship
NUS Undergraduate Scholarship
NUS Faculty Scholarship
NUS Faculty Award
For the above scholarships, applicants must:
a. be Singapore citizens; b. have strong leadership qualities and potential; c. have a good co-curricular activities record, and d. have offered GCE 'A' levels, Diploma from a polytechnic in Singapore or equivalent qualifications (e.g. International Baccalaureate) Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to Encourage Upgrading (LKY-STEP) Award
For outstanding Polytechnic graduates who are Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents (PR), intending to pursue a full-time undergraduate course at NUS. The following scholarships are available for overseas students: ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship
Open to students from ASEAN member countries, excluding Singapore. SembCorp Industries Undergraduate Scholarship
For Indonesian students who have completed the SMU Ebtanas (Science stream), or equivalent OR are completing the SMU Ebtanas (Science stream), or equivalent, in 2008. Singapore Airlines-Neptune Orient Lines Undergraduate Scholarship
Awarded to students of Indian Nationality who have completed the Standard 12 (Science stream) or equivalent, OR are completing the Standard 12 (Science stream) or equivalent, in 2008. Undergraduate Scholarship for Hong Kong students
Awarded to students who hold Hong Kong (SAR) citizenship or Permanent Residency (PR), and who have completed the Hong Kong 'A' Levels (Science stream), or equivalent, OR are completing the Hong Kong 'A' Levels (Science stream), or equivalent, in 2008. Types of Financial Aid Available
In addition, during the course of their studies, full-time undergraduates may also enquire at their respective Faculty/Department/Programme about part-time work opportunities. Students may also refer to the Office of Student Affairs, Career Services for other employment opportunities.
