Discretionary Admission
Up to 10% of vacancies will be set aside for consideration of exceptional candidates for admission to NUS, where factors other than grades will be considered. The following are some examples of exceptional achievements that the University may take into consideration:
(i) Medal winner at the International Olympaids (Biology, Chemistry, Informatics, Mathematics and Physics) (ii) Winner in the National Science & Talent Search (iii) Represented Singapore in Arts and/or Sports (iv) Active participation in community service and voluntary programmes (v) Work experience relevant to the course applied for (supporting documents are required) (vi) Key Leadership positions in community organizations, sports and athletic clubs, etc. (outside school) If you wish to be considered under this, you should provide details in the 'Discretionary Admission' section in the online application form and follow up by sending supporting documents to NUS, Office of Admissions.
