International Union of Food Science and Technology accreditation of Food Science and Technology degrees
The Department of Chemistry is pleased to announce the accreditation of both its 3-year non-Honours and 4-year Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Food Science & Technology degrees by the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST).
The certificates were presented on September 10 at the Gala Dinner of the 13th ASEAN Food Conference (AFC2013) held at the Hilton Hotel Singapore. Prior to the formal announcement, the International Union of Food Science and Technology's Education Committee visited the Department of Chemistry to audit the two degree programmes. The endorsement is valid for a period of 3 years with a new audit required then.
The Singapore Polytechnic Diploma in Food Science and Technology and Nanyang Polytechnic Diploma in Food Science and Nutrition were also accredited at the "associate degree" level. The Bogor Agricultural University's (IPB) Food Science and Technology degree was also credited at the same event. IPB has the best food science and technology course in Indonesia and it's internationally renowned. The NUS Department of Chemistry has a MOU with IPB since early 2005.
