Biodiversity Workshop for Nan Hua High School
On 6 June 2018, the Department of Biological Sciences organised a biodiversity workshop for 20 lower secondary students from Nan Hua High School.
The half-day workshop gave students an opportunity to experience a secondary forested environment along Kent Ridge Road. Not only did they see numerous plants, birds, squirrels and insects, they also learnt how to use compound microscopes and stereo microscopes.
They also gained knowledge on how to collect and store specimens. Back in the laboratory, they were enthralled with the magnified view of the collected organisms.
Dr Amy Choong gave an introduction on the forested environment before the field trip
