The Amazing Science X Challenge (ASXC) is into its seventh year. This year’s competition ran from 15 to 18 September. The competition is jointly organised by the DSO National Laboratories, Science Centre Singapore and the Faculty of Science, National University of Singapore, and is part of DSO’s Amazing Series of Competitions.

The ASXC is open to primary and higher level students. It aims to challenge participating teams to design and create innovative science exhibits that explain science phenomena and make science come alive. Participants will also acquire the spirit of teamwork and problem-solving skills.

This year, 125 teams from 29 schools and five tertiary institutions participated in the competition. They brainstormed and built various interactive exhibits that sought to express the marvels of science as well as to engage and excite the audience.

The Faculty of Science organised training workshops and consultation sessions for the participants before the competition and participated in the judging of the exhibits. To date, more than 900 teams with about 2,700 students from primary to tertiary institutions have taken part in the DSO Amazing Series of Competitions.
