Outstanding Researcher Award & Young Researcher Award 2015

 

The NUS University Awards 2015 was held on 24 April at the University Cultural Centre. This annual event honours and recognises individuals who have excelled in the areas of education and research, and displayed exceptional contributions to Singapore and the global community.

Prof GAN Wee Teck from the Department of Mathematics was conferred the Outstanding Researcher Award for his achievements which have positioned NUS at the forefront of mathematics research. He is an international leader in the field of number theory and representation theory, particularly their fascinating interactions, otherwise known as the Langlands programme.

 

Prof Goki EDA from the Department of Physics received the Young Researcher Award that is conferred to researchers below 40 years of age, based on the impact of their research. Dr Eda is known for his pioneering work in the emerging field of two-dimensional (2D) materials.
