University Awards
The Outstanding Researcher Award (ORA) is awarded to researchers based on their impact and strong research track record in their area of expertise. The successful researcher must have consistently achieved peaks of research excellence over a period of time and should be recognised by the academic community as having achieved significant breakthroughs or outstanding accomplishments in his field.
The Young Researcher Award (YRA) is conferred to researchers below 40 years of age based on their potential impact in their respective areas of research.
The Temasek Young Investigator Award (TYIA) aims to build up a pool of high quality researchers in NUS to undertake leading edge research in defence and security. The award is specifically targeted at promising young NUS faculty/research staff who have demonstrated strong scholarship and leadership in research.
1. The NUS Young Investigator Award (YIA) is a programme from the Office of Deputy President (Research & Technology) which offers research-funding to highly-promising young faculty members.
2. The programme recognises the needs and supports the early career development activities of young faculty members who are likely to make significant contributions to the development of research at NUS.
3. The NUS YIA provides a maximum grant amount of up to S$500,000 per project for three years. Projects that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries or break new ground are especially encouraged.
The title of Emeritus Professor is conferred in recognition of distinguished scholarship and outstanding service to the University.
The Outstanding Educator Awards (OEA) is awarded to staff who excelled in teaching. The recipients will each received a cash award and a teaching grant. The winners will deliver lectures as part of the Outstanding Educator Award Public Lecture Series at the University Hall Auditorium.
The Annual Teaching Excellence Award (ATEA) is awarded to faculty members who have displayed a high level of commitment to their teaching for the year under review.
Faculty members who have won the ATEA award three times (from AY 03/04) will be placed on the Honour Roll (HR) to honour their sustained high performance in teaching.
The NUS Quality Service Award aims to reward staff who demonstrate their contributions in giving quality and exemplary services and special achievements, initiate projects to improve work performanve and so on.
