Jane LIM-WEE majored in Chemistry & Zoology in the National University of
Singapore and received her Honours degree in Chemistry in 1972.
Ms LIM-WEE started her career as a pharmaceutical sales representative with
American multinational Pfizer. She had intensive exposure and experience in sales, marketing, financial and cost accounting, human resources, logistics and
Sspply Chain management. In 1980, she was appointed to the Board of Directors of
Pfizer Pte Ltd.
However, her mind had been set to propel into business one day. In 1981, she
returned to her family business in Civil Engineering. Together with her husband
and co-owner, they took bold steps to refocus and remould the business into a
chemical business, developing the successful Wee Hoe Cheng Chemicals Pte Ltd of
today. The company has evolved to be a regional wholesaler, importer, regional stocklist and distributor of chemicals and food ingredients and additives from
all around the world, with the latest count of 111 global business partners.
The company has its own building, sales and warehousing staff and operations
in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, with six business units supplying:
Ms LIM-WEE is currently the co-owner and Marketing Director of:
She travels to USA regularly, on the invitation of the USA Trade Council and the USA
Dairy Council to represent our region in panel discussions, one-on-one meetings with manufacturers, exhibitions and technical conferences -- the most recent
being the Whey Technical Conference in Chicago, 10-15 September 2005, attended by
about 500 researchers and industry leaders from USA, Europe, Russia and Japan.
Ms LIM-WEE has made several contributions to the community, which include the
setting up of the Wee Hoe Cheng Bursary Award at Ngee Ann Polytechnic for needy
students. She has recently been invited as a guest speaker at the NUS
Commencement 2005.
