Michael LIEW is the General Manager of the ComfortDelgro East China Business Unit.  He is responsible for the bus and taxi operations in Shanghai, Suzhou and Zhengzhou.  He is also responsible for business development in East China. Mr LIEW joined the Group in December 2002 as Executive Director of Comfort (China) and Vietnam.  Prior to joining the Group, Mr LIEW was the Senior Vice President of Times Publishing Group Ltd.  He was in the education service for 12 years and had been a science teacher, school principal and deputy director of education.  During this time, he co-authored a series of science books at primary school and 'A' levels.

Mr LIEW was awarded a Singapore Government Scholarship in 1963 to pursue a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physics from the University of Singapore.  He was also awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to pursue a post-graduate degree in management at the University of Leeds (UK).  He was conferred the Public Administration Medal by the Singapore Government in 1976 and was a former Member of Parliament in Singapore.  He has recently been appointed as Adviser to the China Council for Promotion of International Trade, Chengdu.
