Since his graduation from the Science Faculty in 1970, Mr Ng Kok
Song has been intimately involved in safeguarding the value of
Singapore's national savings. For thirty-nine years, his professional
responsibilities have been focused on the prudent investment of
Singapore's foreign reserves, beginning with the Ministry of Finance,
then the Monetary Authority of Singapore and now the Government
of Singapore Investment Corporation where he is currently the
group chief investment officer.
In 1983, he pioneered the setting up of the first financial futures
exchange in Asia as the founder chairman of SIMEX which is now
part of the Singapore Exchange. In 2004, he was instrumental in
establishing the Wealth Management Institute for the training and
development of professionals for the private banking and fund
management industry.
Mr Ng also serves in the labour movement as a board director of the
Singapore Labour Foundation and the chairman of its Investment
Committee. In the social services sector, he is Chairman of the Lien
Centre for Palliative Care.
He is a recipient of the Public Administration Gold Award and in 2004, the French Government accorded him its prestigious Cross of Knight of The Legion of Honour.

In recognition of his accomplishments and his contributions, the Faculty of Science honours Mr Ng Kok Song with the 2009 Distinguished Science Alumni Award.
