Outstanding Science Alumni Award
Purpose
As in the case of the Distinguished Science Alumnus Award, this award is to recognize science alumni who are outstanding in at least one of the following or attain excellence in at least two:
  • contribution/leadership in her/his profession, industry or discipline
  • service to the community or the nation
  • entrepreneurship
  • research
  • any other area of human endeavour deemed worthy
Eligibility
Any science alumnus of NUS (including University of Malaya (Singapore), University of Singapore and Nanyang University) shall be eligible for this award.
Nomination Process
A nomination letter, curriculum vitae of the nominee and other relevant information should be sent to the Dean of Science, Faculty of Science, National University of Singapore, Blk S16, Level 9, 6 Science Drive 2, Singapore 117546.
Award
  • The award shall consist of an engraved plaque accompanied by a citation.
  • Up to 8 awards will normally be given.
  • The awards will be given annually, provided suitable candidates can be found.
All nominations will be reviewed by an Awards Committee appointed by the Dean and the decision of the Awards Committee is final.
Guidelines
In the nomination/selection process guidance may be obtained by looking at previous recipients of the Distinguished Science Alumnus Award and of National Day Awards and those given by academic/professional bodies.
