Distinguished Science Alumni Awards
Purpose
In recognition of science alumni who have distinguished themselves in any one of the following:
  • leadership in national science policy
  • service to the community or the nation
  • excellence in research
  • dedication to the betterment and promotion of science
Eligibility
Any science alumnus of NUS (including University of Malaya (Singapore), University of Singapore and Nanyang University shall be eligible for this award.
The candidate must be a Singaporean or permanent resident.
Nomination Process
A nomination letter, curriculum vitae of the nominee and other relevant information should be sent to The Dean, Faculty of Science, National University of Singapore, Blk S16, Level 9, 6 Science Drive 2, Singapore 117546.
The Award Committee may also bestow the award on highly deserving candidates.
Award
  • The award shall consist of an engraved plaque accompanied by a citation.
  • Up to three awards will be given.
  • The awards will be given annually, provided suitable candidates can be found.
While it is generally intended that the Distinguished Science Alumni Award be given to an individual, special circumstances may dictate a joint award.
All nominations will be reviewed by an Awards Committee and the decision of the Awards Committee is final.
