The YES programme aims to cultivate and establish a group of science students with an interest in science communication to engage in the practice of teaching and communicating during their candidature, as well as support the Faculty in its community outreach activities.
In this annual YES Certificate Presentation event, YES programme graduates will receive a portfolio detailing their science communication activities as well as a certificate signed by the Dean. The portfolio and certificate are typically awarded to YES members who have completed at least 60 hours of science communication activities.
This session also serves as a platform to create awareness amongst the Science students of the benefits of the YES programme and to recruit potential students for the programme.
Officers from the MOE, Science Centre Singapore (both are part of the Steering Committee which set up YES) and other partners will be invited to this event, providing the YES members and other students the opportunity to interact and network with them.
Some of the YES members are MOE teaching scholars and through this session, MOE is kept informed of their activities and contributions.
